Hector Arana Sr.

Hector Arana Sr. is a pioneering figure in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racing. Born on September 17, 1958; he began racing motorcycles in local competitions. His passion for the sport and mechanical expertise eventually led him to the NHRA circuit, where he became one of the sport’s most respected competitors.


Arana Sr. is best known for winning the 2009 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship, solidifying his status as a top rider in the sport. Over the years, he earned 7 wins. Arana Sr. also became the first engine builder to power a Pro Stock Motorcycle to 200 MPH. 


Hector Arana Sr. is not only a seasoned racer but also a skilled mechanic and tuner, playing a critical role in preparing the motorcycles for both himself and his son, Hector Arana Jr. Known for his deep understanding of the  V-Twin  engine, Arana Sr. spends countless hours fine-tuning the bikes to ensure they perform at peak levels.


He applies his decades of experience in adjusting every aspect of the motorcycle, from optimizing the engine for power and efficiency to dialing in the clutch settings to suit his son’s riding style. Arana Sr. works closely with Arana Jr., discussing performance data, weather conditions, and track variables to make precise adjustments that give them a competitive edge.


As a father, Arana Sr. takes pride in passing on his technical knowledge to his son, ensuring that Hector Arana Jr. not only races at his best but also understands the intricate details of bike maintenance and performance optimization. This collaboration between father and son has been crucial to their success on the NHRA circuit, blending experience, expertise, and teamwork into a powerful racing duo.


Hector Arana Sr. lives in Indiana with his wife Grace.  He has four children; Amy, Hector, Adam, and Abigail.  He is also a proud grandfather of Hector (21), Melanie (11), Daniella (11), Sofia (6), Olivia (4), Ella (3), Charlotte (2), Amelia (Newborn).
